Hello friends and anglers, first we would like a moment to introduce ourselves:
Big Pig Promotions has been founded and is operated by 2 anglers and business men who love the sport of competitive bass fishing. Richard Eldridge from Panama City, Florida and Jerry Harvey from Panama City, Florida. Together, Richard and Jerry have developed and put on more than 15 trails and events. All events were very successful. My name is Gerald Harvey, my friends call me Jerry, and this is my business partner Richard Eldridge. We would like to thank you for taking the time to read this package. To give you some background on myself, I am 40 something, married to my lovely wife who is an optometrist in Panama City, FL. I have one 26 year old child, Heather. I am a plumbing contractor by trade, I’ve been in marketing and sales business for over 20 years in various companies in the construction industry. And most recently my wife and I were in the optical business from 2009 to 2016 in South America. I’ve just returned to the United States in April to start this promotional company with my longtime friend, Richard Eldridge. Hi, my name is Richard Eldridge, I am 46 years old, married and have 4 children and 2 grandchildren with 1 on the way. My son, Colby, was just accepted to the University of Florida and is on the Florida collegiate Bass team. I was a roofing contractor for 20 years and I most recently was a designer of commercial and residential shade sails, and run the Fort Walton Beach, Florida office. I am an avid outdoors-man and bass fisherman and absolutely love the sport of competitive bass fishing. At the time of publishing this information package, we are working full time to promote Big Pig Promotions and the daily operations.
Second we will give you a little bit of history about how Big Pig Promotions came to be:
Richard and I met in about 1991 where he joined the bass club I was in, and we pretty much were instant friends. We fished tournaments through the 90’s at least every weekend, and spent a whole lot more money than we won, and we was in the money regularly. At that time, to go to the pro level tournaments, the costs just seemed out of reach for most of us, although there were some opens then we could have fished for a $600 entry, but with a room and fuel you’d have been over a thousand dollars and that just seemed like too much of a gamble for most of us. And those prices have went way up since then. But we fished at that level and the B.A.S.S. Federation for about 12 years but never made it passed the state team. I got out of tournament fishing around 2003, but always kept up on what’s going on in the sport. Richard and I were talking about putting on the Elite Anglers Trail, but it would have been too difficult for me since I was living in South America. Richard started the trail and did very well with it, but wasn’t satisfied with the future of that trail. And he started putting on big fish tournaments with great success, and all along I’m in contact with him about his progress. He was in the process of starting another trail with other partners, but conflicts and hardships ended that before it started. Towards the end of 2015 I made plans to move back to the States and we started talking about putting together a new trail with a different format and big payouts to the anglers along with sponsorships. Along with Richard’s past years of experience and over the next several months together we have compiled thousands of pages of research and put a lot of time and money into figuring out the best way to combine all the aspects into what we believe will be the next National Bass Tournament Trail, which regular guys can to afford fish and earn winnings at the pro level. This is not an overnight achievement, it will take 2-5 years to fully develop, angler support and sponsor support, but as we all know nothing that changes the standard is achieved overnight. For the last 7 years we have been running successful tournaments and events with guaranteed payouts and awesome participation. With countless hours of research we have decided to create the best team trail on the market. Let’s face it, every one of us would love the chance to fish the Big Show, am I right? Along the way we realized that we are very good at promoting and organizing events, and that we shouldn’t limit this skill to fishing tournaments. With our connections and business savvy, we have also developed several promotional plans to benefit many different event venues. Please keep this in mind as you continue to read about this new venture!
